Currently, there is no official ban in Indonesia that bans tourists from renting bikes.
GFS-Bike by GlobalGO has been a licensed motorbike rental company since 2022 and continues to operate legally without interruption.
Please note that most motorbike rental companies in Bali operate without the proper licenses. These companies are often owned by foreigners who operate illegally.
Local authorities actively enforce regulations because some individuals rent bikes in Bali without considering local laws and customs.
To avoid problems, please follow these simple rules:
- Always wear a helmet, both the driver and the passenger.
- Carry a valid international driving license.
- Always have the vehicle documents with you.
- Wear top clothing when riding.
- Never drive under the influence of alcohol.
By following these simple rules, you will ensure a safe holiday. If you encounter any issues with local government, feel free to contact us via WhatsApp at any time.
Always Wear a Helmet!
Both the driver and the passenger must wear helmets, as this requirement is strictly enforced by the police. Failure to comply may result in fines, confiscation of the scooter or motorcycle, and forfeiture of the rental period without a refund.
Make Sure You Have a Valid International Driving License Before Starting Your Trip
Not having a valid international driving license can result in a fine of up to 1 million IDR or imprisonment for up to 4 months (Article 281). Bribery is not an option; you will be taken to the police station. It’s better to get an International Driving Permit before your trip or get a digital version in PDF format through our partnership with the International Drivers Association. Please respect local customs during your travels.
